Hell Hath No Fury (2006)

Official Selection of the 2006 FANTASIA Film Festival in Montreal…

HELL HATH NO FURY

“Eroticism mixed with white knuckle terror in a blood soaked horror anthology that is sure to test the endurance of even the most hardened gorehound. Inspired by the unhinged grindhouse films of the 1970s and 80s, these six gruesome tales take place in a world where women aren’t afraid to exact horrific revenge on those who dared wrong them. Simultaneously sexy, disturbing, and exhilarating, these tales of female revenge will both titillate and terrify.”

~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

In this one, I was really practicing my idea of a non-linear narrative with my short segment, “Prey”. This one starred the lovely Jennifer Angiers (who shows up on the audio commentary) as a cop who tries to outwit a rapist only to have him outdo her. Only to have her come back for bloody revenge, of course. I was cutting half of this feature film, and after I worked on Ryan Nicholson’s segment “Torched” for a mere two weeks, I spend the next five months cutting Prey – 17 times.

I think to date Hell was one of my favorite experiences, from the production to the first screening at the Cinematheque in Vancouver in the summer of ’05 (could we really have shot Plotdigger Films’ Live Feed in between?!) to the Fantasia Film Fest in ’06… to the dismal international release a year later. Oh, well, we now (finally) have all the rights back to this film, and we plan on doing a little remastering re-releasing of our own (without going too George Lucas on its ass)… Stay tuned – 2016!
